Today is a rainy day in Philly but there’s nothing like getting some good news when you’re a Cowboys fan. Yesterday in an interview with reporters, QB Dak Prescott stated that he was close to returning from his ankle injury. Prescott told reporters:

“I could go play in a game right now and in my head be very, very successful…”

This is great news when the QB is telling you that he’s almost back from recovery. Prescott was injured back in Week 5 against the New York Giants, suffering a gruesome ankle injury that placed him on injured reserve for the remainder of the season. Once Prescott was lost, the Cowboys offense went straight into the toilet.

Not only that but fantasy owners also suffered potentially major losses as Dak was a top 5 quarterback over the first quarter of the season. Before the Week 5 injury, from Weeks 1-4, Prescott was the QB1, averaging 31.3 fantasy points a game over that time. The loss of Prescott for fantasy was felt as many of the Cowboy’s skill positions took hits without his presence on the field.

With Prescott poised for a return, this bodes well for both the Cowboys team and fantasy owners. A bounce-back season could be in the works with Prescott’s return to players like Amari Cooper, Ezekiel Elliott, and CeeDee Lamb for the 2021 season.
