Potential Landing Spots for Aaron Rodgers in 2025
Aaron Rodgers’ time with the New York Jets has officially come to an end. The Jets announced via social media that they will be moving on from the former Green Bay Packer quarterback and will enter the 2025 offseason looking for a new quarterback under newly signed head coach Aaron Glenn.

Rodgers signed a three-year, $112.5 million contract back in 2023 after being traded from the Green Bay Packers during the offseason. Rodgers’ presence in New York was supposed to change the pace of the Jets organization into a true playoff contender. Unfortunately, that never materialized as Rodgers went down in the first game of the 2023 season against the Buffalo Bills. The Jets record with Aaron Rodgers on the roster was 12-22 since being signed in 2023.
With the Jets moving on like an ex-boyfriend looking to better himself, Aaron Rodgers will look for another home as a potential starter in the 2025 season. But where will Rodgers end up and continue to play at a high level?

Aaron Rodgers Landing Spots
New York Giants
The Giants are circling the toilet after allowing Saquon Barkley to leave in free agency to the Philadelphia Eagles. Then having to not only watch him win a Super Bowl with their divisional “opps”, but also bench their $40 million quarterback Daniel Jones and release him from the team is another gut punch.
The Giants are sitting on the third-overall draft selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, so they can take their “quarterback of the future” with Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders at the top of the list.
Bringing Rodgers back to New York would free up the Giants to move around in the draft, stacking up draft picks to fill holes at other spots on the roster, and allow them to get back to being competitive in a division that has taken a step up.
The Giants need to do something that shows the Giants fans that they are trying to right the ship and that they have a plan to make it happen. The Giants also have just over $47 million in salary cap space, according to Spotrac.com so we should expect them to be active in free agency even outside of the quarterback position.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders being marked as a landing spot for Aaron Rodgers is a long shot. The Raiders not only have some significant turnover on their roster this coming offseason but it’s going to be a hard sell to get a quarterback over there in the AFC West with the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes still lurking as the “big bad” in the division.
The Raiders did bring in former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll as their new head Coach, and they have the second-most cap space to play with at $95 million heading into the 2025 season.
The Raiders have holdover Jakobi Meyers at the wide receiver position and sensational tight end Brock Bowers to kick things off. If Aaron Rodgers can help the Raiders get back on track, that will be the question the team will have to ask.
The Raiders do draft inside the top 10 in the 2025 NFL Draft (sixth overall) but it may be tough for them to move up ahead of the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, two teams who are also in the hunt for quarterbacks and ahead of the Raiders in the draft order.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns want to get active on the quarterback market if they want to keep defensive end Myles Garrett. While has requested a trade, the Browns have stated that they don’t want to move on from Garrett. Garrett has expressed to see if the team has a plan for the quarterback position as the All-Pro D-End doesn’t want to be a part of a rebuild.
Grabbing Aaron Rodgers in free agency may be enough to appease Myles Garrett into staying. The situation isn’t as bad as the Raiders either. They have a decent offensive line that could use some love and a solid wide receiver corp with Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman.
The Browns need to add a running back during the offseason but there are several ways to fix that. Rodgers has also shown that he is still better than Deshaun Watson, who may not play in 2025 as he suffered a setback with his torn Achilles injury.
