The trade market is getting active with the waiver wire getting players pulled this week. Then again, the trade market should always be active in your fantasy leagues. Always remember, “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price”. That means that the value of an item or object can change even on a daily basis. The quote also holds true when it comes to fantasy football. Fantasy players value tends to fluctuate during the season. Even top-tier players can have their value tank while an unassuming player’s value goes sky high. This is perfectly illustrated by Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. It’s also illustrated by Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston.

Chase was drafted as the 1.01 in fantasy this season at the wide receiver position and possibly overall depending on your leaguemates. Meanwhile, Johnston was ignored by the fantasy community. They remembered his poor performance in the past. The additions the Chargers made during the draft and free agency also influenced this perception. Heading into Week 5, Johnston sits at the WR5 in while Chase fell to the WR18. With that being said, there are players whose value is on the lower side. Making it a perfect opportunity for fantasy managers to cash in on players at a value.

Here are three names fantasy managers should target at a discount while they can.

Three Buy-Low Targets For Week 5

A.J. Brown, WR – Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is the first to kick off this three man list. The Eagles passing attack has been woefully inconsistent over the first four weeks of the season. Brown’s fantasy stock has suffered from this inconsistency. Brown has just one game over with double-digit fantasy points (22.9 FP vs. LAR – WK 3) and is averaging just 8.8 fantasy points per game so far. Brown has also expressed his displeasure with his lack of involvement in the offense on social media.

The Eagles will want to keep their highly-paid receiver engaged moving forward. But Brown’s WR47 ranking makes him a perfect mark to target, especially if he’s on a struggling fantasy roster.

Derrick Henry, RB – Baltimore Ravens

Fantasy managers may not have ever expected to see Derrick Henry on a list like this but here he is. Henry got off to a great start in Week 1 for fantasy football. Henry rushed for 169 yards. He scored two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills. Everyone thought the King was ready to roll. Unfortunately, fumbles and offensive slow starts nerfed Henry in three other contests. Henry would only hit double-digit fantasy points in one other game, scoring just 10.7 fantasy points against the Detroit Lions. Henry now heads into Week 5 as the RB22 (12.5 FPPG). Lamar Jackson is expected to miss the next two to three weeks due to a hamstring injury. Without him, Henry will need to lead the offense.

Brock Bowers, TE – Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders tight end has a lot to deal with this season. Geno Smith continues to turn the ball over and kill offensive drives. And now Bowers is trying to work through a lingering knee injury on top of that. Bowers is expected to play in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts. However, he hasn’t been capable of practice Thursday or Friday. These are glaring issues. The opportunity to nab a top tight end at a low cost can’t be ignored. Bowers is averaging 10.9 fantasy points per game, placing him at the TE10. Bowers’ managers may need some convincing to part with him but it shouldn’t be impossible. Adding Bowers to a stronger fantasy roster is a smart move. It can improve a fantasy manager’s chance to push for the fantasy playoffs.

But what other players do you think fit the “buy-low” bill this week? Leave a comment in the comment section or wherever you may be reading the article and share your thoughts.
