The Dolphins are making sweeping changes across the organization, and now it is reaching the players. The Dolphins officially released wide receiver Tyreek Hill in a move that would increase their salary cap space. With Hill’s release from the Dolphins, the team saves nearly $22 million for the cap. The Dolphins’ combined savings with other big-name releases like Bradley Chubb amount to nearly $56 million.
Tyreek Hill, for the first time in his career, will head into the 2026 offseason as an unrestricted free agent. This allows Hill to sign with whatever team he sees fit. There are plenty of teams that could use Hill’s skills. That is, if he can recover from his gruesome ACL tear he suffered last season. If Hill can return to form without any setbacks, he’ll be a force wherever he lands. Hill is one of the top free-agent wide receivers currently on the market.
Fantasy managers are eager to see where Hill lands. They are also interested in his physical progress throughout the offseason. Here are a couple of teams that would be great landing spots for Hill for fantasy football.
Top 5 Landing Spots for Tyreek Hill
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills should be all over this. The Bills are in the market to enhance their wide receiver ranks. They want to add a viable weapon for Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense. Despite positive affirmation from new head coach Joe Brady, the jury is still out on Keon Coleman taking a leap in 2026. Khalil Shakir has been more than serviceable for Allen. However, the Bills’ offense needs a much bigger threat to help Josh Allen. Adding Tyreek Hill with his ability to stretch the field and use his speed would help tremendously.
Khalil Shakir was effectively the Bills’ WR1 last season. Shakir led all Bills receivers in targets with 95 and fantasy points with 10.5 fantasy points per game. Tyreek Hill, if healthy, would immediately catapult to the top of the Bills wide receiver room. Hill, at his healthiest last season, averaged 13.4 fantasy points per game over the first four games. There is no doubt that Hill would perform even better with Josh Allen throwing him passes.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are in desperate need of another wide receiver opposite of D.K. Metcalf. No other wide receiver behind Metcalf saw more than 60 targets last season. Mike McCarthy is the new head coach for the Steelers and may lean more towards the pass in his first season. That could mean more opportunities for the passing attack to thrive. Hill would be a welcome addition to the Steelers with the speed he’s shown in the past.
Don’t be surprised if the Steelers sniff around free agency to add another weapon to their offense. The guys that they already have on the roster, like Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin, clearly aren’t enough. Even if Hill were the second option behind Metcalf, he would still be a viable choice. Fantasy managers can target him later in the draft.
Las Vegas Raiders
If there is a team that needs a wide receiver, it is most-assuredly the Las Vegas Raiders. The experiment of Tre Tucker was fun to watch for a couple of games, but it quickly faded. Reports suggest that Geno Smith is expected to be released. As a result, Fernando Mendoza will start his rookie season in need of weapons. Hill would provide the rookie with a sure-fire weapon in the Raiders’ offense. The Raiders are also a more attractive spot. Former Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is taking over as the head coach.
The Raiders’ offense was one of the worst units last season. The Raiders’ passing attack ranked 28th overall in 2026 and finished with the eighth-fewest passing touchdowns at 20. But there is hope for Mendoza and Hill if Kubiak can turn Sam Darnold into a viable quarterback.
New England Patriots
The Patriots seem to be one wide receiver short of a Super Bowl depending on whom you ask. New England’s passing game lacked some serious punch during the playoffs when facing some tough defenses like Denver and Seattle. Adding Tyreek Hill to the mix would give the Patriots a more threatening look at the receiver position. Even more if they decide to keep Stefon Diggs. Hill with the Patriots would not only give Drake Maye another big-play threat next to Stefon Diggs, but it could open up the passing game even more.
The Patriots, while being one of the better teams in the NFL last season, could have done more damage in the passing game. Maye was highly efficient with a 71% completion rate on 502 attempts. Maye’s attempts ranked 23rd among quarterbacks last season. Stefon Diggs led all Patriots receivers with 102 targets. Mack Hollins was second on the team in targets with just 65. Mixing in Hill with Diggs would allow Maye to go even further as a quarterback and become an even greater target for fantasy football.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints would be another ideal landing spot for the free-agent wideout. The Saints offer a passing offense with a high volume of passes and relatively few targets to throw to. Chris Olave is the top option there but behind him, it’s a bit stark. Olave saw 156 targets as the Saints’ top option. Devaughn Vele saw 39 targets as the second man on the totem pole. The Saints are in desperate need of another receiving option.
Hill would not only be able to assume such a role but would also see a significant level of volume. The Saints’ passing offense finished with 591 pass attempts, sixth-most in the NFL last season. Olave alone accounted for a 26% target share. Hill would be able to syphon off more than enough work to be a sought-after target for fantasy managers based on his potential volume alone.
