Keenan Allen is just one of a few big-name receivers still available in free agency

Free agency has come and gone, and there are still some big-name wide receivers who are available. There are a few teams that still need to address the wide receiver position, even after the draft has been completed. While some teams opt to wait until a more pressing need comes up during training camp, there are five wide receivers available in free agency who could still help those teams. These players could also be late-round fantasy targets depending on which teams they get picked up by. So here are five receivers who are still out there in limbo waiting to get picked up off the pile that could still be of value this fantasy season.

Top 5 Free Agent WRs

Stefon Diggs

The fact that Stefon Diggs is still on the streets is puzzling. Diggs was not only a thousand-yard receiver after returning from a torn ACL, but he finished as a top 20 receiver for fantasy football with the New England Patriots. In his last two seasons, Diggs averaged 11.4 yards per reception and 79.5% catch rate. Diggs would provide any team looking for a number two option with strong production. One team that should give Diggs a call is the Washington Commanders.

While rumors have their interest pointing in the direction of 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, the Niners organization has yet to release him. Waiting for Aiyuk’s release could come to bite the Commanders on their backside. Instead of waiting, they could give Diggs a call and add him to the roster. Diggs averaged 12.4 fantasy points per game while leading all Patriots receivers in targets, yardage, and fantasy points. Imagine what he could do with a fully healthy Jayden Daniels.

Keenan Allen

Another receiver who still has some gas left in the tank despite their age. Allen heads into the 2026 season at the age of 34. Even considering his age, Allen is a receiver who can still be effectively involved in an offense. Last season, Allen saw 122 targets from Justin Herbert. Allen did finish under 1,000 yards, but averaged 9.6 yards per reception. That was his lowest yards per catch since 2020. Allen doesn’t have to be the main option for his next team.

A team like the Miami Dolphins could benefit from a veteran presence on its roster. The Dolphins have completely overhauled their wide receiver corps after trading Jaylen Waddle to Denver and releasing Tyreek Hill. Allen would provide a reliable and bigger target for Malik Willis to lean on in the intermediate area of the field. The Dolphins’ starting wide receivers consist of Jalen Tolbert and Malik Washington; they could use the extra firepower.

De’Andre Hopkins

The feeling here is that DeAndre Hopkins still has something to offer as one of the bigger names remaining on the free agent pile. The Ravens just didn’t seem like a great fit with their prior system. Hopkins scored two touchdowns in his first two games with the team and was never heard from again for the rest of the season. Hopkins was a drop candidate for fantasy as he averaged just 3.9 fantasy points per game last season. Hopkins was not a priority in the Ravens’ offense as he finished with just 300 receiving yards on the season.

Hopkins, like a few others on this list, may not be the top options they once were, but could still be viable if incorporated in a new offense. A good fit for Hopkins could be the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons let Darnell Mooney walk in free agency and picked up Jahan Dotson and new rookie receiver Zahariah Branch. A vet to pair with fellow receiver Drake London would help whoever wins the quarterback job between Tua Tagoviloa and Michael Penix further develop the new passing game.

Deebo Samuel

It’s a real surprise to see that Deebo Samuel is still out there on the free agency pile. Samuel had a decent season, albeit not to his usual standards, as he finished with 727 yards and five touchdowns. Samuel started off the season hot with the Washington Commanders, as he was the WR7 over the first five weeks of the season. Samuel was averaging 17.7 fantasy points per game during that time, with four of his five games in double-digit figures. But the rest of the season, Samuel would only see one more 20-point fantasy game.

Due to Terry McLaurin missing most of the season due to injury, Samuel was used more like a traditional receiver as opposed to the dual-threat shown with other teams. Samuel is a versatile threat and a solid-enough receiver. The Raiders could use one more weapon with their WR corps lacking in size outside of second-year receiver Dont’e Thornton Jr. If there was a team to kick the tires on Deebo Samuel, the Raiders should be on the phone.

Tyreek Hill

Hill suffered a horrible knee injury early in the 2025 season, and according to recent reports, he may not be ready until midseason. Hill’s track record isn’t in question, but the concern is whether or not he can return to the “Cheetah” post-injury. That is likely the reason one of the most explosive players is still in free agency. Hill averaged 17.8 fantasy points per game in his career, so fantasy managers know what he can do once he hits the field. There have been some rumors that Hill could be returning to the Chiefs. That lane does make sense, as it would reunite Hill with Eric Bieniemy, under whom Hill was productive during some of his time with the team.

Hill reportedly had a second surgery during the offseason, casting further doubt on Hill’s true availability for the 2026 season. Despite these tidbits, Hill’s landing spot will be of interest to fantasy managers as he’s likely to go undrafted. If such a scenario were to arise, adding Hill to an IR spot in your fantasy league with one of your last draft picks might be the move to make to secure Hill this season.
